The Best Wine Vacations
Sunday, May 6, 2007 at 03:53PM I dedicate this post to my former manager who loved wine. In reading MSN today, I found an article that was about the 10 Best Wine Vacations, which reminded me of the Top 10 Wine Regions, and that of course, led to other sites.
Before you actually go anywhere, it's always nice to start locally, and one of the more interesting sites I found was LocalWineEvents.com. This site is "always up-to-date, and where you will find details on gourmet culinary tours, cooking lessons and demonstrations, charity wine auctions and dinners, wine appreciation classes, wine dinners and wine tasting courses, official sommelier schedules, wine festivals and more." What's nice about it, is that there are several ways to search, i.e. by geography, date, etc.
If you're looking for an expert in Wine Vacations, look no further than to Exclusive Wine Vacations, who specializes in wine vacations. They do tours all over the world and can customize yours for parties of only two or more.
Another specialty site is Women and Wine, whose ".com" name had to have been created by a man (i.e. "womenwine"). "Women & Wine is a lifestyle community for women (men optional!) who share a passion for wine, good food and travel." They do events, travel, and also have a radio show!
There's a lot of wine tour operators if you know the specific destination you're going to, which you can easily Google. And if the lists above on the top regions and vacations weren't enough, there's also the Top Wineries List!
So eat, drink and be merry!
