Shows on the road...
Monday, October 16, 2006 at 07:15PM You're leaving on a jet plane, and you don't know when you'll be back again, but at least you do know where you're going. And since it's been awhile since you've seen a concert, you want to see one while you're on the vacation. But who to see? Well, read on!
Aside from the obvious choice of Ticketmaster, which controls the bulk of the tickets sold for events in the US, there's also Pollstar.
For over 25 years, POLLSTAR has provided music business professionals with the most reliable and accurate source of worldwide concert tour schedules, ticket sales results, music industry contact directories, trade news and unique specialized data services. In addition to publishing the concert industry's leading trade publication, POLLSTAR also maintains the world's largest database of international concert tour information.
Aside from being able to do research as to who's playing where, what I like about them, is that I can also put in a venue, and then as people are added to it's schedule, get an email telling me that.
Pollstar is great as far as secular bands go, but what if you would prefer a Christian band? Well, CCM Magazine has a tour section, whereby you can sort on state, artist, event, city, venue or zip code - whatever's easiest for you. And the database is pretty comprehensive too!
So whether you're going somewhere or staying in town, these are the best places to search for a band, a tour, or just what's happening that night!
