Luggage Storing Tip
Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 07:40PM Today I was at the luggage store, picking up the carryon bags that I should have gotten two weeks ago when we bought our suitcases, and I said I wanted to buy slips for my suitcase. Not slips as in something that goes under your dress, heck, I don't even mean a Freudian slip! These are plastic covers that you put over your suitcase to keep them protected, and not get stained.
Well, I thought that they'd be great to store our suitcases in, because our garage is so dusty. But the sales woman quickly put me straight and told me NOT to do this. Why? Well, when you wrap your bags up in plastic, whether it be a suitcase slip or garbage bags, you trap all the moisture in there, and this leads to mold.
So what should you store your bags in, while you're not using them? Well, her suggestion was to just use some old sheets, because they're cotton and they breathe. And then inside of them, put either cedar wood chips (to keep moths, etc. away) or put in dryer sheets.
So that's my tip for today!
